$$ Web Site Update $$ February 4, 2002

The volume reported in our stock last week has been impressive, and we are pleased that the share price continues to maintain itself in the mid teens. We feel that our share price should start moving upward again soon on some real good news.

Additional progress was made with our reclamation bond last week. Mike was in contact with both Vista Gold and Stockscape (which is Cornucopia), and he was told that they might be ready to complete their agreement shortly, and therefore we might have the $1.8 million bond posted this week. Obviously, this is the anticipated good news, which we had hoped to report to our shareholders for a very long time. Maybe it will get done this week. Stay posted.

The gold price seems to be working with us right now along with all the other activities we are engaged in. Mike poured another 44.1 ounces of gold/silver dore (70% is gold) last week. With the gold price around $286 per ounce, we will realize additional income when we sell it this week.

Steve?s tour of the Mineral Ridge mine last week resulted in our first major snowstorm of the year on the property with about 10 inches settling over everything. (Steve has a reputation of bringing snow to the mine.) Anyway, the company that was showed the property liked what they saw. In total they spent about 3 days either in the office or on the property. We are hopeful that they may provide the operating capital required to get the mine back into production.

Other companies have shown some interest in reviewing the Mineral Ridge mine. Steve will be touring a second company over the property this coming Tuesday and perhaps another in the following week to both Mineral Ridge and Borealis.

One last note: Doug Thayer, the ex Silicon Valley software engineer that ?adopted? us and who is getting an MBA degree, is building a new Golden Phoenix website for us. Doug brings a different view of Golden Phoenix to the table, and this will be reflected in the layout of the website. We hope to have this new design posted by the end of February.
