fed model--how it is calculated---Fair Value of SPX: 1101 Today SPX: 1094 SPX =UNDERVALUED (I believe SPX is undervalued 1st time since Sept 2001)
(1) Fair Value of SPX P/E = 1/(Ten year bond yield)= 1/.049 = 20.4
(using the Fed model)
(2) Fair Value of SPX= Fair value of SPX P/E x 2002 SPX eps = 20.4 x 53.97 = 1,101
(using $53.97 2002 SPX eps estimate by I/B/E/S Intnl; eps=earnings per share)
DISCLAIMER: 2002 SPX eps are probably PRO-FORMA
