I think curse is a good way to describe them, especially as it captures beautifully the dead-but-still-dangerous hand of Novo just waiting to pick their pockets. Come to think of it there is precedent in BTland for that curse in particular, the curses of Roche on DNA, gnez on its pups, and surely there are others. Hey let's open a cursed thread. As for their timing they practically leave no alternative. They are spending money like bloody mad! They are on the way now to construct a $50m protein mnfg plant next to headquarters, and from what I can see riding the bus, South Lake Union is not exactly low rent for siting a manufacturing plant. Gorgeous views and good restaurants however. Sorry, me be cranky today. Wilder
