Enron was the biggest contributor to the Bush campaign.
Doing away with soft money contributions might restore
honesty and decently in Congress, but I'm not sure.

There was a rumor going around that Paul H. O'Neill
might be the first one out. He has created controversy.
He refused to investigate off shore tax havens last summer.
And he has said that he doesn't believe corporations
should pay income taxes. It looks like quite a few
of them don't!

Bush grew up in the Texas oil culture. I found a good
article about it a couple of weeks ago. You get
a feel for the culture from that article. In sum,
there isn't any separation between business and government,
and the main object is to make money for you and your
buddies in business.
