Nice article if your intent is to bash conservative principles and in so far as the author is employed by the public sector, one might say, he has a vested interest in keeping the Golden Goose alive and well.
These guys (or shall I say taxpayers) take good care of these guys.
That said and the author properly qualified, the one element missing for his rant is the effect of "character". This Gravytrainer leads the reader to believe that because the thieves he sat with were conservative zealots AND that they worked for the biggest Ponzi Scheme (besides the entire US public sector) it is a de facto indictment of conservatism. Well, it is not.
Enron was a pack of thieves under the conservative mantle. No matter the system, when you plug in dishonest, thieving people your going to get a corrupt result but this does not mean that the system or philosiphy[sic]is corrupt. Have you ever had frank discussions with public sector employees about the pork barrel spending going on inside their domain?
Here's a good place to start unless of course your goal is just to bash conservatives. cagw.org
The Enron debacle will provide the platform for the REAL porkers of US citizens to puff and pout and all the Dems will cheer with glee, meanwhile, the real porking will go on, and on, and on, and on,,,,,,,, |
