And what's really weird is that the great majority of my investments are lined right up with what Slider claims to be advocating. Because I don't have the resources or time to manage a large porfolio of individual short positions, I use BEARX, plus big positions in LEAP index puts; but close to 50% of my net worth is in some way on the short side of the equities markets. I am also long gold and silver, via my LEAP calls on NEM, PAAS, and more recently, CDE.

I guess where I differ is that I am holding oil and gas positions because you never know when something might happen to shut off some middle eastern oil.
