Shipments for the first three quarters in 2001 were a respective 6.99 million units, 6.61 million units and 6.4 million units. Many notebook companies believe the market bottomed out in the third quarter of 2001. Table mis-dated for 2000 Qtr. 4 data(?). Looks like Dell bumped IBM from the top spot and Compaq went from the #4 to #2 position(year over year, Qtr.4 data). Compaq also came roaring back from a very poor Qtr.3'01
