I think a large part of that increase is for a military pay increase. Some member of our military really don't make very much money (if you a low ranking enlisted man trying to support a family you probably qualify for food stamps). I notice that there is no major new programs (except $27bil for anti-terrorism $10bil of which is a "war reserve"), a decrease in military construction and shipbuilding, no increase in the missile defense budget and no increase in overall force levels. The war in Afghanistan has cost $7bil so far, and that accounts for some of the increase.

Overall the increase basically comes down to anti-terrorism and a pay increase. Are you against the pay increase?
