All,
I interpret yesterday's announcement, by HWP, that they intend
to exit the Disk Drive manufacturing market, as a possible endorsement
of Intel's Flash Memory Card market, of the future. (See Intel announcement of Flash Memory Card shipments and pricing, July 1, 1996). Hewlett Packard has been very close with Intel, having jointly developed the P-7, and must know Intel's plans and the potential for this Flash Memory Card market. This market offers huge revenue potential for Intel, although, it will mean lower margin business.
