Brad,

This is what a friend of mines found for C-Cube from Herb Greenberg (the Bizinsider).

Hope this answers the question.

>> Are we sure that Zenith is a Cube DVD customer?

-- Checking the calendar: Last August the stocks of Zenith Electronics and C-Cube Microsystems soared on news that Zenith had received a $1 billion contract to build a digital set-top box for Americast. Set-top boxes are small computers that let consumers receive all sorts of programs and information on their televisions.

Zenith would build the boxes, while C-Cube (if you believed the touters) would supply the chips.

Americast is a partnership between Walt Disney Co. and five regional Bell operating companies.

According to a Zenith press release at the time, production was supposed to start during the first half of this year.
Sounds pretty encouraging, right? Well, the first half has come and gone and so far there haven't been any boxes. What happened to the production? ``Depends on what you call production,'' a

Zenith spokesman says. ``Test units were in production during the first half.''

He says ``volume shipments'' won't start until this quarter. But analysts say it appears the actual rollout will take much longer
than originally expected, and an Americast spokeswoman will only say that it will occur ``over a period of time.''
