Yep. The legislature may do whatever it wants in the selection of electors. It needn't be through election. Thus, they can terminate contests at any time they want. That means that if they want to take advantage of the safe haven, to ensure no further challenge of the slate in Congress, their will prevails over the state Supreme Court......
