NEW TRIPOLI, Penn -- After a horrific year in 2001, the worldwide lithography market is expected to rebound and grow by 6.8% in 2002, according to a new report from The Information Network here today.

There are also some new and surprising changes among vendors in terms of market share for 2001, including Canon Inc.'s emergence as the world's largest supplier in terms of worldwide sales last year, according to The Information Network. But Nikon Inc. remained as the leader in terms of overall tool shipment in 2001, according to the New Tripoli-based market research firm.

In total, the worldwide lithography market fell 17.9% in terms of revenues last year, from $6.7 billion in 2000, to $5.5 billion in 2001, according to The Information Network.
