SK Telecom released their earnings today....

I will try and listen to the CC a little later today. The first statistic that jumps out at me from the presentation is the following....



Data ARPU

2G     2,103 Won
1x     4,788 Won
Color  8,177 Won



I believe that those statistics are calculated by dividing the total data revenue by the total number of wirelessly enabled handsets in each category. In other words....all owners of 1x handsets are counted as subs.

I think we still may have to wait for conclusions on the effect of color handsets (the sub base is still small) but I think it is pretty clear that the transition to 1x is fostering increased data usage.
