LA QUINTA, Calif. (CBS.MW) -- Intel (INTC: news, chart, profile) is starting to see a recovery in its server business and expects emerging markets to drive future growth, company executive Mike Splinter said Wednesday.
Speaking at the Goldman Sachs technology conference here, Intel's executive vice president of worldwide sales said the company is starting to see sales of its Xeon server processors increase as customers burn off computer inventories.
He expects sales to accelerate once Intel starts selling its high-end McKinley processor later this year.
"Big-name companies are trusting the Intel architecture to run critical applications," Splinter said. "This is a big change."
