jp, russett, if you guys have to spend your time ridiculing TWG management, why do you bother? Wouldn't your time be more productively spent in other directions? Maybe I'm far from typical, but when I'm as disgusted with a company as you two project, I sell and move on. It serve me no purpose at all to continue posting on forums related to companies in which I no longer have a direct interest. Of course, if it served my purposes to be a company basher, obvious or not, that would be another matter. Not my style, however.
BTW, jp, you continue to say you are a geologist, but you didn't answer my questions. How are these dykes different from those of South Africa? They are wider and exposed while many of those in SA are mostly buried. You do say mining costs would be high, but then you attempt a comparison to an underground PGM desposit. Isn't this apples and oranges? Sure looks like it, and you were not clear as to why Raglan remains undeveloped. Is it because Falconbridge has better options? For that matter, Voisy's Bay remains undeveloped. Would you compare it to Torngat? Forgive me, but your comparison doesn't make sense. If you want to be convincing let's see some real comparative analysis. You should easily have access to such information given your professed background as a geologist. For instance, SUF is/was producing from Klipspringer at $25 tonne. What contributes to this level of cost and just how much more expensive in dollar terms would it be at Torngat (roughtly speaking, of course)? What makes the difference? Granted SUF had/has infrastructure at KLP or was easily able to bring it in. However, large portions of the system are buried and are exploited as underground mines - something that will not be required at Torngate. [BTW, there was no infrastrucute at Point Lake or Lac De Gras, yet they now host the Ekati and Diavik mines. Torngat is on deep water and does not require "ice roads" to bring in what's needed. In fact, Ungava Bay is ice free for longer periods of time during the year than the ice roads were ever open to the developers of Ikati and Diavik.] Also, if one accepts your claim that hundreds of tons/tonnes an hour would have to be produced, isn't this possible by mining at serveral locations on the system at the same time - the way many other fissure systems are exploited?
Actually I really don't care all that much about Torngat at this stage of things, but you keep bringing it up as a vehicle for ridicule. Like most people, I'm more interested in the results from Freightrain, but if you want to educate us sheep about the geological facts and costs at Torngat, be my guest. Just don't expect anyone to accept comparisons to a nickel mine, and unsubstantiated declarations that development costs make it "Impossible, except in Hermann's dreams." At least HD is not an anonymous Internet entity. He has to take responsibily for his words and actions. |
