Now surely you will not pretend for one second that either Bush or Texas invented the game of Federal budget gobble-gobble, will you? No. No. No. Texas just happened to pop up when I read the Dallas Morning news. The point was irrelevant to Bush, or any pres as far as I was concerned. Texas is particularly convenient since they don't have a personal income tax...so these tax sucking pigs [along with the other States that are tax sucking pigs] are using our tax dollars. Screw 'em all. Pork barrel is another name for politics. They don't play it in Britain? Come, now. I don't know. It is different from the States; none of the counties [closest equivelant of a State] collect taxes. Most of the discretionary funds are funneled towards the South east of England. That's a gripe from the rest of the country; but the largest population tends to be in the south east. The British government is confusing. Scotland, Wales and Ireland have this relationship with the rest of England that's bizarre. I've tried to get a couple of Brits to explain it to me, but I'm not sure anyone understands it. jttmab
