I don't think that currency values will have a huge impact on the trend, though I presume that they will cyclically affect demand, as one currency rises and falls in relation to another. But I'll admit I don't know a lot about this interesting subject i think you would enjoy the article a just posted the link to. forbes.com "There is no record of any government ever being able to repay debts equal to several times the annual output of its country in real money. Japan will be no exception."
