Dan I recall reading in the news that alchemy run into problems raising next round of venture capital. Which means it was a fire sale and amd got fairly good deal on it. I would guess that Intel would try to avoid betting on alchemy since that would undermind their strongarm. So it is likely that in addition to amd there were only few bidders if any and that would suggest a deal again Regards -Albert
