Good observations, but unless Alchemy is on the verge of profits, the company will continue to lose money for a while. Only this time, it will be AMD's money instead of venture capital.

Regardless of whether Alchemy will become profitable or not, the cost to AMD is a lot more than the price they're probably paying.

P.S. - Before I get flamed, let me remind everyone that Intel's acquisitions also drained profits for a while after they were acquired. This was John Fowler's biggest pet peeve. ;-)
