This is only my fourth post in the past three and a half months. It used to be fun exchanging good-natured banter with those on the other side of the aisle, then the threads became overrun with the likes of Thomas Watson, JLA, and all the helium went out of the fun balloon. Pfffffffffft.
It would be nice if I could just post to nice people like you, but, alas, the right-wing rage became a little more than I wanted to bear. Hence, my abdication, like the late husband of Wallis Simpson.
In any event, it should be interesting to see what transpires in the November elections if the economy continues to tank, and the only GOP stimulus plan is to provide a trillion-dollar-plus tax break to the Enrons of this great country, so that the chosen few at the very top can live even fancier lifestyles.
In the big scheme of things, I'm glad Enron happened. Aren't you? It's been a nice wake-up call. |
