BURLINGTON, ON, Feb. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Joined by a number of its partners, Nexus Group International Inc.'s (NXS:TSE) AcSys Biometrics Corp., the provider of the only face recognition system powered by biomimetic technology, is exhibiting at the Biometric Consortium (BC) in Arlington, VA., February 13 - 15, 2002.
AcSys, together with Engineering Systems Solutions, Inc. (ESS) a Frederick, Maryland-based computer systems integration firm and a long-time contractor with the U.S. Intelligence Community, and Broomall, PA-based, Siedle North America, a subsidiary of SSS Siedle and the market leader for intelligent security and communication solutions, will exhibit at Booth No. 101, located adjacent to two of AcSys' partners - Unisys and ANSER.
The Biometric Consortium serves as a focal point for research, development, testing, evaluation, and application of biometric-based personal identification/verification systems. It currently has over 800 members from private industry, federal, state, and local governments, and academia. Over 60 different federal agencies are represented in the consortium. Fifty percent of the members are from industry.
The conference covers topics related to the utilization of biometric solutions for homeland security including improving airport security, strengthening of national borders, travel documents, visas and for the prevention of identity theft as well as the acceleration of biometric standards developments.
