I certainly won't be using this system forever; probably in a year or so I'll get a new one. The present computer isn't in it's original state, since I've installed new components as the need arose. It's just that the impetus to upgrade used to be that I could get one with a higher-frequency processor. Nowadays the processor speed no longer represents a bottleneck, so I don't notice that the computer is pokey and start lusting after a new one. I think most people who have anything faster than 600 MHz probably feel the same way.
