Actually, "it's impossible to evaluate cost of mining," until the after the mine is in production." Beforehand, all kinds of estimates and scenarios can be engaged, and should be considered by investors.

"Anybody trying to speculate on the cost of mining and the profitability of mining at Jackson Inlet without evaluating CAPEX, cost of financing, and return on capital is just speculating."

Mining IS a speculative investment. It's pre feasibility and feasibility studies that tell us what the future prospects may be. In the interim, by what methodology should investors/speculators evaluate a prospective placement of funds in exploration companies if not by the "back of the envelope" estimations as just posted by WillP and Vaughn?
