Karen seems to have bought into the myth that Bush is responsible for the country's energy woes

Good grief, Bill. What a overstatement! I make a mild observation that a bunch of energy execs getting together to develop a national energy plan tends to produce a plan with an obvious point of view and you jump to put me in the Donkey camp. Sounds like partisan over-reaction to me.

I have mentioned several times on these threads that I came to the SI coffee shop upon realizing that my friends thought a lot like me and that my exposure to different perspectives was limited. I can't brag about that particular light bulb going off. I should have realized much earlier how much people who are in the same business or who gravitate to each other think alike. It's obvious and inevitable. My crowd, while diverse in many ways, tends to think alike in many other ways. It's hardly biased to note that a bunch of buds from the energy biz, consciously or not, would have a shared POV on what direction our energy policy should take. Duh! And that putting forth that POV as an energy plan is an act of advocacy, not statesmanship. Double duh!
