Assuming a car does not last much more than 8 years, I do not see how PC's would not be replaced at least every 3-4 years

But if the upgrade cycle goes from 2 1/2 or 3 years, to 4 years and the price per PC goes from $3k (what I paid for the machine I had before my current one) to $1k or less, it might be hard to see rapid revenue growth even if the number of computer users goes up a lot in some countries (the richest already have a lot of computers and the poorest wont be able to afford many for awhile but the countries in the middle might start buying a lot more).
