i doubt it...he's really not the brightest tool in the shed. the fact that he's a professor of economics at MIT is no saving grace, on the contrary...one must ask what they were thinking when they hired this dude.
in '98 he opined that we "will never have a recession again because the Fed doesn't want us to have one" (not a verbatim quote...i think the original quote sounded even sillier). i'd say he should be demoted to janitor...he sure knows bugger-all about economics.
