Fully integrated processors have problems in that they have both analog and digital components that are difficult to get to play nice together. It tends to complicate their design so you only want to do it if you can have a long life cycle of the part on a given process. A good example, the SA1100 and (I think) SA1110 are on a 0.35 micron process. Hmm, yep, silica.com
