Richard, I still think that Arafat should follow Ben Gurion's example and disarm those "individual terrorists" (according to Vidrine) in the various factions that promulgate terrorism. Ben Gurion disarmed the Etzel and the Lehi as one of his first move to bring all military factions (the Hagana, Palmach, and later the right wing paramilitary forces as well) under one umbrella, subjugated to the civilian authorities, that he what he promised to do in the Oslo accords, and as long as that is not done, he cannot hope for a fair expression of national identity of the Palestinians. (Maybe I should go back to the old nomenclature, Southwestern Syrian).
