Been following this company before their acquisition of LPSS.

For Phase I location, the cell site where the mobile is located in as well as the mobile's call back number is forwarded to the nearest PSAP.

For Phase II location, the coordinates of the mobile and the mobile's call back number is forwarded to the PSAP.

Each basestation must be modified to determine this. Also, TRDO's contracts are migrating from a "per subscriber" basis to a "per cell" basis.

E 911 will help create a telematics marketplace with basic infrastructure in place.

Wireless Telematics will be used so that these wireless carriers can recoup their initial costs for deploying e911. However, I do not see it being "hot" for the next year or two. When cell phones have large color screens, high data rates and are cheap, will we start to see massive growth in telematics.
