Actually, I think MSFT with its bloatware is doing a pretty good job all on its own. Win XP seems to have directly led to a quadrupling of DRAM prices this year so far. The DRAM fabs are now able to sell their product above the production cost for materials. Now if they could only recover the cost of all those fabs...
