Leigh and Everyone,
I have an update/on going prayer request for David.
I spoke with him on the phone the other night. A couple weeks back he finished his radiation and chime treatments. Those couple weeks of time were for healing from the treatments he has received, prior to another surgery that is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb 12. During this time of healing David has been faced with an infection, that was treated with antibiotics. This past Monday, David met with his team of doctors again and had some more testing done. The cancer was previously contained to the right side, the latest tests revealed two cancerous lymph nodes on the left side.
During the surgery, they will go after the cancer on both sides. As some of you know, my father was a cancer patient for 17 years. As a family we faced many battles and many victories against this disease.
Ever wonder what the plan is when two people meet. Knowing that there is a reason for God to bring people together. When David first told me about the tests being done for cancer in the oral cavity, I hoped that cancer wasn't one of the reasons our friendship developed. When the tests came back positive, I was saddened by it, but determined that if one of God's reasons for that friendship to develop, was for me to be an encouragement to David, based on my knowledge of the specific struggles and challenges that go along with cancer of the oral cavity, then so be it. I have seen the wonderful things that God can do in these situation's, as my family lived through it with my Dad.
Please continue to pray for David and the surgery on Tuesday.
Anyone want to do intercessory prayer on Tuesday, maybe taking 15 minute time blocks, during the time of the surgery (if I find out what time it is...) And use those 15 Minutes of prayer time to intercede for David, the medical team and David's family.....
Just a thought.
Jane <edit, I missed a phone call from David yesterday, I would think that call was to update me on what the doctor's had to say yesterday. Will update when I hear from him> |
