It is a rather interesting business that has a unique set of problems. Labor problems, environmental problems, transportation risks, banana diseases, currency risks, and political risks to name a few. The banana plantations are spread out over a large geographic area. I'm not an expert, but I picked up some information from reading annual reports and press releases over the years. I have also learned that buying 10 year AAA+ bonds has risk attached to it. <G>
