I am not against lobbying. I just do not think it would help against regulations. Besides, I think it is more important to persuade voters than the elected officials. I would be more inclined to think that lobbying efforts that informed and educated the citizenry would be more effective in determining political debate than lobbying Congress to hide some new regulation that benefited my interests.

It is rare that Congress nullifies legislation, except when the public is against it. If you want new regulations, you lobby Congress. If you want to nullify a regulation, you lobby the voters.
