I don't know what I think about campaign finance reform. It's not one of my hobby horse issues and I haven't studied it. I have reservations about public financing because of the problem of deciding which campaigns warrant support. I'm afraid it would turn out like Federal support for the arts and Maplethorpe exhibits. I'd like sunshine, I guess. A web site with a data base of who gave what to whom and who spent what. And what third parties spent what supporting which candidates. There's a lot to be said for disclosure.

It would be nice if campaigns spent less, but I don't know any acceptable way to effect that.
