I find Jane Austen's novels speak to me.
In them one can see the foolish and the rational, lovingly illustrated and with such amazing detail! The locals are quite real- one can find them on maps even, and visit them- perhaps her novels are Bibles of sorts. They seem to fit Mr. Greg's criteria- for there is PROOF that places in them are real!- and they are certainly divinely entertaining. Far more entertaining than the Bible.
