The COMPX hit the downside target with a Friday intraday low of 1772. I was most pleased because it coincided with the opening ceremonies of the Olympics. While this may not excite some who desire more technical confirmation, I feel that the national and international patriotism is enough to generate a countertrend rally. This will be fueled mostly by short covering. The bottom line is that bears pressed their bets and that internal pressure needs to be worked off. Poetic justice that this occurred at the Olympic onset.

The upside for next week is logically based at overhead resistance, namely 1880. At that point, the market will need real buying to overcome congestion.

So for next week, counter moves are in order.

Will reassess at weeks end. Go USA!
