Yes,LG, the Paton article highlights the conflicts of interest for analysts. Mind you, insider information based on an analyst's perception of what might happen is not the same as having in your hand a piece of very rich ore.
Personally speaking, I feel more encouraged if I know that the analyst has already put his own money where his mouth is - so long as this stock position is meant for the mediumn to long term. But it should be disclosed.
