i been doin duck jibes on my Fanatic Bee fur years...snortl....on my big bord us a 10,0.....mombo saile...

duck jibes?
You sound good. Those are hard to learn even in flat water (if you are a big guy like me... little guys on floaty boards are a different story...but still takes much skill and practice.)

but a 10m sail is for stinkpots... you know, boats with a crew... and a little motor to get you in.

but I bet you don't need a 4mm wetsuit where you sail?

I sail mostly in the SF Bay. I'm a BIG guy at 230# (half from lifting weights and half from ice cream) but I sail about 80 days a year in the Bay on a custom 8'9", 117L board (semi sinker)with a 5.5 or a 6.5 sail or a wider 8'11, 26.5" wide, 140L board with a 6.5, 7.5 or an (8.8 when desperate in the fall).

The Bay is choppy and often you get swells shoulder high on a good ebb tide.. so a short board is a must for having fun. The racers are now nearly as wide as short it is so funny to watch! Looks like they sail dinner tabels!

No duck jibes for me but I am getting some days in where I go an hour or two without falling in, even on the sinker. The windsurfing here is better than the Gorge IMHO because it isn't as gusty but it is harder since the tides go against you half the time. Maui is the best!

If you come out this way, I'll take ya windsurfing (if your call for the market to take off is correct! snort!)

BTW, I'm archiving some of your posts here
suite101.com
so we have a record of them without all the prattle from us fans. :)

I'd appreciate it if any regulars here could help as I don't always have time to put the best posts there.
