"the problem with your schema is that the men dealing with human law are punished if they DO own up to the "truth" while the people failing to acknowledge God's law have absolutely no reason NOT to acknowledge it- there is no punishment FOR acknowledging it, in fact, the punishment (under your schema) is for failure to acknowledge."

Simply acknowledging the existence of Gods law does not excuse one from keeping it. The Law of God is like a mirror, If you hold it up and look into it, then it can tell you that your face is dirty, but it cannot do anything to clean your face. Plain old dirt requires water to cleanse, but the stain of sin will only come out by applying the blood of a perfect sinless sacrifice. The reason people deny the Law is because they think that in doing so, they can avoid paying the penalty of the Law. Feigned ignorance, is no excuse for breaking the Law. You should have paid more attention in Sunday school. The punishment is "FOR" the breaking of the Law, not "FOR" denying it, and admission of guilt does not absolve you of punishment. You may fool Congress or the Courts, but you can't fool God.
