On a price/performance basis, there is zero doubt that the p4 is waaaaaay behind

Wrong. On a price/performance basis P4 is Waaaaaaaay ahead. Intel is getting much more for then than AMD gets for their XP. That's a good thing if you're an investor.

Elmer, kinda like when you're talking about AMD yields (conveniently (???)forgetting to compare p4 using the same criteria of analysis)...

NiceGuy I'm not going to spend much time trying to explain it to you because it's waaaaaaay over your head but P4 (Willamette) was supposed to yield way lower than Athlon because it's way bigger. In a normal fab it would yield about 1/2 what Athlon would yield in that same fab. I can't compare the 2 because I happen to know exactly what Intel's yields are for everything they make and that prohibits me from saying anything about anything regarding Intel's yields. What I can tell you is what should be coming out of AMD's F30 based on capacity and die size compared to other "World Class" fabs as Jerry called it. For whatever reason, they are selling about 1/2 what they should be able to produce. No matter what excuse you use it's not good.

"The slower one is what's really impressive!!!"
That is a true statement and should scare the daylights out of anyone holding INTC shares

Now we understand how you pick stocks.
