Testimony: I do not think all here has heard this true story before.I met Teresa my wife when she was with another man. I could not take my eyes off her. I had to ask her where I had seen her and I asked her if she could talk to me for a minute in private. The person she was with asked who I was and she told him I was an old acquaintance. We were both in another town. I did find out that she was from my hometown. I asked her for a date and she accepted. The night of the date I received a call from her father stating Teresa could not make the date ; she had been in a terrible head on collision the night before. The girl with her an old high school friend was paralyzed from the neck down. I thought. Boy . Either this is true or it has to top every 'stood up' "again" tale I could think of. I really dismissed it and thought . Even if true there is nothing I can do now. Then I thought if its all a lie thats pretty bad putting your father up to make the call. I thought about going to the hospital but I hardly knew her. I thought. God , I guess that it just wasn't meant to be.!! Six weeks later I thought. Teresa owes me a date I'm calling her up. So I did. I asked and she said Greg my face has over a hundred stitches, I'm in a cast to my waist. I can't go anywhere. I said to her. No. You do not understand. You owe me a date. I'll be there at 6 Friday evening to pick you up we are going out to dinner. I hung up without waiting to hear her response. I showed up on time with a dozen roses. Her face was covered in bandages. She had a cast to her waist and could not walk. I carried her to my car and took her out for the evening. I carried her into the restaurant and back to the car when we were finished eating. She said she made her mind up that night that she would marry me. It was several months later that the cast and bandages came off but we continued dating the whole time.
