Well, the Iranians are trying to cover their tracks as well.

It takes two to tango and the Karine A has to be epiphany that motivated Bush to include Iran in his "Axis of Evil" and ceasing any further attempts to reconcile US-Iranian relations with the current regime in Tehran.

I'm not particularly frightened by the bluster coming out of Iran. It's indicative of the fact that they are frightened by the potential for the US willingness to destabilize the current regime and replace it with one that is less inclined to forment violence.
