HI - i got an email from a friend which didn't seem to apply to me. when i queried her about it, she said that a virus had gotten to her machine and sent out emails to others. NAV did not indicate any problem on either of the emails i got from her. i tried to scan just the specific emails but had trouble doing so. i finally did "scan files" and went thru program files to netscape to user to mail to folder that the email was in (I use netscape 4.79 as my email account). when i scanned the folder that the email was in, i was told 1 file scanned, no infection. my question is, there were about 50 emails in that folder, but NAV said it scanned just one.
i subsequently created a new folder in my mail program , moved the email from my friend to it, and scanned it, no infection. then deleted it. is there a better way to straightforward scan an email? I do have NAV on full time to scan incoming and outgoing emails. tia. larry
