Thanks for the long-term gold pricing information ACF.

That link is commentary on gold as an investment.

My guess is that the big stocks of gold will be fed into the market when/if gold gets to $350 to $400 an ounce. Over $400 an ounce and they'll sell quite a bit. The governments might as well enjoy a sell-off opportunity and it'll make the gold bugs really happy to have thousands of tonnes of gold on the market so they can all get a piece of the action [I don't really think that, because they really don't want too much gold suppressing the big price rise they've waited so many years to enjoy].

It's a bit like the big sell-off in the Hang Seng a few years ago and the Hong Kong government made out like bandits by buying huge amounts at around 6,000 which they presumably sold again around 15,000.

They do say "Don't fight the Fed". Maybe with good reason.
