Ed, I don't wish to get too distracted here, discussing politics, but I don't know what it is you expect with regard to Isreal.

I truly don't see a way where we abandon them. The US allowed Isreal to have its piece of the pie following WW II. We can't allow it to simply disintegrate. The Islamic world has vowed to obliterate the Isreali people and their country. The Islamic world can not live at peace with the Isreali's occupying any part of Isreal as far as I can see. What are we supposed to do? Show disloyalty to an ally that has stood by our side for many years?

The Palestinians continue to attack and attack and attack. I think Isreal has shown great restraint by not obliterating the Palastinian people and their lands.

I know we've had this discussion before, but if you slap me, I'm going to slap you back twice.

How do you negotiate with a class of people who's only goal is to take what you have and kill you in the process? I know you have some very good thoughts on how to negotiate and work things out, but how do you negotiate with someone who's only satisfaction is to take what you have and/or to see you and your family dead?

I read an article in our local paper yesterday about one of the Marines who was taken hostage by Iran and held hostage during the Carter administration. He said that in looking back, he wishes they had resisted, he now wishes they had opened fire and defended themselves. His thoughts are that by doing nothing we sent a message that the US didn't have the resolve to stop the Islamic Fundamentalists in their tracks. He mentioned that things only got worse because we didn't take a strong stand up front and nip it in the bud. I tend to agree with his analysis.

What is it you wish Bush would do?
