Sometimes Doing Nothing Is the Best Strategy (Article)

REAL MONEY--THE STREET.COM

Here's my question of the day: Is doing nothing one of your trading choices each day? For many of you, I bet it's not. No, we're all conditioned that we must do something to be fully qualified as traders or investors. Hey, we're a nation of action , not of sitting around on our behinds, munching on pork rinds! (Weekends excluded, of course.)

Yet inaction is often the most prudent and profitable path to choose. Case in point? Look at many of the charts below. My final suggestion on more than a few is "do nothing." In fact, for many days over the past few weeks, I've recommended in my newsletter that you basically sit on the sidelines and trade small.

That's easier said than done, I suppose. I mean, how many of us can just sit around and intentionally do nothing?

Anyway, try it sometime. I think you might find it to be a useful arrow to add to your quiver.
