I have a full sound recording studio with the same equipment used for scoring film... I perform all of it, but I record one instrument or ensemble at a time and layer that over the music I already recorded and onto separate tracks, each newly recorded segment goes onto another track, I have infinite tracks available... I use a Kurzweil 2000, a keyboard used for scoring film so it gives a real instrument and live orchestral sound, including human voice... everything is digitally sampled from the authentic source, so it sounds real and live because it essentially is... I also use spectral enhancers, mixers, and some other electronic stuff to enrich the sound before it gets recorded... but, I play every single note of it for each and every instrument... it takes a while to get the music right, so I may need to record a section many times to get everything right... Rachmaninoff took months to record, it required knowing the music as well as the composer's notations, but some of the simpler music took only minutes impromptu... everything is performed on the piano keyboard of the Kurzweil itself, so someone who cannot play a piano keyboard cannot play or record anything... you have to know music and be able to read Rachmaninoff too... I play piano for many, many years and I've studied classical piano, composition, music theory, arrangement, and so on... essentially, I have a full sound recording studio, this is professional equipment, no toys or anything, no preset musical gimmicks ready made for kids, I have to know the music and music in general to make it work.....
