Hi Chip, Gross does pen some insightful articles. Paul McCulley also does some great thinking. I certainly agree with you that a series of unusual convergences got us to Feb 2002. And yes, the article in the c section of today's WSJ is very good. The long bond yield topped out on Nov 1 hence, the short term top in PTTAX. As OX has pointed out, the fund does some distributions. I've never check to see how many Pimco funds there are. It would be interesting to explore that at some point. I've seen a few value fund managers talking about MIR today... speaking of those merchant energy stocks.
