Jay:

My basal ganglia relate.

I'll tell you what gold is really about, if you like. Male genes are programmed by millennia of evolution to seek out and control physical resources. Female genes are likewise programmed to make their organism's reproductive resources available to the male genes/organisms that control those physical resources. They do this because male genes/organisms that control physical resources offer a higher probability of the reproductive survival of their offspring/genes.

Doubt this? Dangle a big shiny gold rock in front of a (preferably human) female organism and see what happens.

The connection you make between gold and sex is no accident. Your genes see gold as the essence of reproductive success.

Regards,

Mike
