I'm of NO help on networking/ethernet problems ....

matter of fact,
WHEN
I get finished moving my four boxes and seven monitors into my upstairs home office
I'll be on this thread asking for assistance ...

right now, I have two upstairs and three downstairs ....

my wife has informed me I'm to VACATE myself from "HER" downstairs office ....
as I'm officially declared "too messy" by the headofthehousehold ... hehehehehehe

so, I bought her a new flattie screen TFT monitor and a P4 Gateway for Valentine's Day ...
she has no idea that she is getting a replacement for her CPQ, but I'm giving it to the grandkids .....

I'm happy with MY stuff ..... ggggggg

matter of fact, I can't wait to get the live horseraces running on that 32in Gateway monitor of MINE .....
in MY upstairs room ....

at any rate ...
I bought a LinkSys router/hub so I could get all the boxes in the house hooked up to the cable ....
right now, I can use them all on the cable,
BUT
it takes resetting/renewing/redoing the settings for other than the primary machine ...
the others run on the two dialup ISPs we have ....

I tried once during the holidays to put in the hub/router....
dang thing said I had to get an address something like 888.858.868.55 *(made this number up as I don't recall WHAT the correct one was) ....
when I tried ... it wouldn't come up right ... lacked the right number ... got close, but no cigar ...

so ...

if anyone has gotten THIS far with my ramble ...
any reccos for network reading I can do ???????
